Violent or abusive behaviour

All patients have the right to access appropriate health care in line with National Guidelines and local standards. Patients also have a responsibility to meet their own health needs and treat staff with respect.

A zero tolerance policy towards violent, threatening and abusive behaviour is now in place throughout the National Health Service. The practice will remove from their list with immediate effect, any patient committing an act of violence or abuse to any member of the practice team, its associates or persons present on the practice premises. The patient will be referred to the Primary Care Support Service.  We will also consider this action if you are repeatedly rude or aggressive.
